You know what, we’re going old school today. Screw you guys. I hope you packed a lunch…because we’re taking a ride down Rock-y Road and I need some bananas.
The first pick comes from Spoon. You’d swear these guys were the a limey BBC import, but these guys actually hail from Austin, Texas, and make a habit of rockin’ peoples socks off. Their latest album “Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga” is awesome. Definitely buy that shiznit.
This track comes off of their ‘05 release “Gimme Fiction”.
SPOON - “TURN MY CAMERA ON”
Makes me want to buy a camera and turn it on.
This next pick is an old classic by the one & only Radiohead. God, I love them. Their latest album “In Rainbows” was actually the first album to be given away online for FREE by a band. Eat your heart out Metallica. And unlike Lars Ulrich, it’s REALLY good.
This particular track comes off of their masterful second album “The Bends” (1995).
RADIOHEAD - “FAKE PLASTIC TREES”
So good. Can you believe that shit came out 13 years ago?!
And I’m gonna throw in a bonus this week, because I was watching “Stranger than Fiction”, and because this song rocks. It comes from a wild child Brit named “Wreckless Eric”, who had this one hit wonder in ‘78. I apologize for the shitty video quality, but the awesome music quality should make up for it.
WRECKLESS ERIC - “WHOLE WIDE WORLD”
Gotta love VHS. Can you believe the movie industry was scared VHS was going to ruin their business when it came out in the 80s? Unreal.
